This two day workshop will review basic cultural competencies and will introduce brainspotting theory and techniques used to promote tactical brain health for the most difficult to engage populations.
We will:
- Support a clear understanding of why cultural competency with first responders, military veterans, and their families is important within brainspotting.
- Define how brainspotting can be applied to these populations to promote engagement in services and increase resiliency.
- Define frame and focus of brainspotting specific to first responder and military populations (use of the uncertainty principle and awareness of unique cultural processing characteristics).
- Review components of brainspotting and unique utilizations of techniques within the context of the culture.
- Define use of brainspotting for expanding performance and creativity within the context of these cultures.
